The choice of computerized embroidery thread is very difficult. Different computerized embroidery machine embroidery threads have different textures. For different fabrics and customer requirements, we must first understand the adaptability of embroidery threads. Avoid mismatches. The characteristics of several common embroidery threads are analyzed.

Polyester silk embroidery thread
The characteristics of polyester silk are that it can withstand chemical substances and frequent washing, and reduce the fading and discoloration of clothes. Therefore, hotel uniforms, stone-ground blue denim clothes, sportswear or children's clothing are all made of polyester yarn. In order to maximize the prevention of washing and fading phenomenon.

Relatively speaking, polyester yarn is tougher than rayon. When performing embroidery, the machine is running at high speed, and the polyester thread with high tenacity can also bear a large pulling force; therefore, it is often used for three-dimensional embroidery, cap pieces, shoe pieces, and embroidery on hard embroidery materials such as handbags. And its fire resistance is very high, even if the clothing is close to the flame, it is not easy to touch the fire.

The thread quality of polyester yarn is not more stable than rayon, but more elastic. You can cut a rayon thread for testing, pull it hard, and then relax, and you will find that the embroidery thread will not shrink; on the contrary, the polyester thread after being pulled will return to its original length once it is loosened, which may cause the flower to wrinkle. , so the online tension adjustment needs to be more accurate.

The properties of rayon and polyester thread are similar, the former has the advantage of more color choices. In addition, as mentioned above, the stability of rayon is also higher than that of polyester. Even if it is pulled by the machine frame, it will not shrink significantly, but it is easy to catch fire, and it is not suitable for frequent washing.

Metallic line
The characteristic of metal wire is that the outer layer of the wire is covered with a metal film, and the inner layer is actually composed of rayon or polyester yarn. Designers can create sparkling embroidery effects due to the sheen of the thread's surface; however, at the same time, it also has a negative impact on embroidery. During embroidery, the needle, thread and fabric are often rubbed together to generate heat. At this time, the fine hair of the embroidery thread will play a role, and the heat will be taken away through the needle, while the surface layer of the metal wire does not carry the fine hair. , the heat of the embroidery needle still exists, so that the metal film is dissolved by the heat, and even the thread is broken.

Wool thread
Wool thread is thicker than ordinary embroidery thread, which is a different kind of embroidery thread. It is most commonly used in towel embroidery, rope embroidery and chain stitching. It is especially beautiful when matched with knitted fabrics, especially for girls' knitted clothing. It has a soft embroidery effect and has the beauty of handicrafts. Due to its thick body, thicker needles are required, 100-gauge or 110-gauge needles are suitable, but it is necessary to consider whether it can match the fabric. In addition, the thread tension should also be relatively loose to allow enough space for the embroidery thread to move.

Three factors affecting the level of disconnection
Some computerized embroidery threads are more difficult to work with than others, but making small adjustments can reduce thread breakage, looping, and other unwanted problems. Three factors can affect the level of thread breakage: the tension of the embroidery thread, the lower thread, and the embroidery needle.

The lower thread is generally thinner than the upper thread to make the back of the embroidery thinner and lighter, and to make the computerized embroidery machine work better. We recommend using pre-wound polyester bobbin thread instead of buying bobbin thread and winding it on the bobbin. Experience has shown that almost all computerized embroidery machines work better with factory-made pre-wound bobbin threads. However, since pre-wound bobbin threads cost almost as much as bobbin threads, there's no reason to spend the time winding bobbin threads yourself. The specifications of the bottom thread for computerized embroidery machines are generally 60 or 70 wt, and are generally made of polyester. However, make sure to buy a high-quality, polyester filament bottom thread. The polyester staple yarn is not good, it will stain the computer embroidery machine.

Different effects can be obtained by using embroidery threads of different weights (thickness). Computerized embroidery threads are available in a variety of grammage weights (thickness) - from 30 wt rayon computerized embroidery thread to 120 wt cotton computerized embroidery thread. The principle of computerized embroidery thread is: the higher the number, the thinner the thread. If you want a 3D effect, and/or better covered fabric, try using a low number of embroidery floss and vice versa.
